Have answered several emails, but nothing is shaking so here is the deal:

After contacting most every decent washing machine repair service in the area, no one will touch this machine with a barge pole. Even for ready (and for what one considers rather dear)money. All say pretty much the same thing, repair would take too much time and effort for such an "old" unit, and one guesses repairmen feel they can make better money elsewhere.

Ironically the one place that would come out is Sears Repair service. Was told once call is booked repairman "must" fix the unit, and does not have leeway of turning down the job. Sears also stated if for some reason the unit cannot be repaired a credit would be issued in the amount of the service call ($120 plus tax), towards the purchase of any new appliance from Sears. Quite honestly the thought of spending yet another $100 or so dollars for another repair call with only vauge promises of having the unit repaired leaves one cold, store credit for Sears not withstanding.

Really have no room to warehouse this unit, so if it does not get any offers, will pop the lid (the only thing one knows how to do), take what one can get off the unit, as well as simple things such as knobs, then summon the local immigrant "scavengers" to pick over the remains, or simply let the metal knackers yard man take it away.

While the machine does leak, and since bearings are NLA, there are lots of otherwise working parts in this unit, and it may well be a case where the parts are worth more than the sum total of the washer. If one can believe the emails received, total of several parts alone are worth at least $100.

Interested parties shoot me an email...

TIA
L.

First, what is your email?

I looked up your profile, but find nothing but "nospam" on the whole address. Message me.
