First, either find out yourself or have somebody help you to make sure that the belts are on for the spinner and the pump. (I'm sure you know that you have to close the lid on the spinner, yes?) See if the spinner will rotate easily by hand; if it flies fast and loose both ways, the belt is off. Look for a control dial or switch that shows "Wash" or "Drain" or something to that effect, and make sure you have "Drain"selected to pump the dirty water out. Hope this helps. Maybe somebody else has a Simplicity, and will know better than yours truly. |

I have the same machine in Harvest Gold! There are two places you can place the knob in to get it to drain. 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock. One is drain with the spinner on, and the other is to drain the wash tub and the spinner. As for the spinner, maybe there is some clothes (socks, underwear) caught between the perforated tub and the solid tub. When I got mine, there was a whole pillow case wound around, but the spinner still spun. If you apply pressure to one side of the spin can, and stick a flashlight in, you might be able to see if anything is trapped. Guy |
