Went to my local city dump today (Plymouth) and came across this little gem round the back of a skip, £5.00 later it was in my car and then squeezed into my garage.

Havent had a chance to check it out yet

Great find there Gary!

My crappy computer monitor isnt very clear, but do I read dual spin on the powder drawer (A3256)?

If it is the 3256 then Mathew has a couple of very painful pictures regarding a similar machine, which he found. Beaten to death unfortunately (literally), but surrendered some good parts nevertheless.

Great that there is a decent example safe. Should clean up nicely.

All we need now is an A3252 600rpm, A3258 800 de luxe and the hallowed A3268 Commy Control to complete the model lineup.

Thanks to Mathew, our A3254 now has a pristine door trim - just still awaiting fitting, which wont be for while yet. One its mechanically refettled, the chrome will be applied as the finishing touch.
Cant wait!

Cant wait to hear about your new acquisition.
Fingers crossed that its sound.

Paul

Love those machines

Some of my favourites of Hoovers, still had the better (IMO) programming of the older machines (in comparison to the energy control series) and personally I find them some of the best looking.

We used one just like that in a holiday cottage in Somerset back in 1996, Mum found a stray sock she'd forgotten to put in and stopped it to open the door, problem was it was on Delicates to the water was halfway up the door (she "didn't notice" apparently lol) you can imagine the time it took to get all that mopped up!

Nice one Gary, lovely colour, the blue trim really sets it off, I was always surprised how the 800 still sold condsidering 1100rpm was available, but people where put off with the bearings and drum issues so went back to the 800`s..

What do you mean no space!!! I see room for a least 3 more matching dryers...LOl
