Does anyone know who made this? I looks a bit like the old Hitachi machines. I've e-mailed the seller to see if it's still available. Guy CLICK HERE TO GO TO bellalaundry's LINK |

Hoover not only made the little twin tub portables, but for a while made full size automatics. The dryer had a full front door almost. The portables and full size machines were made in North Canton, OH. This machine I believe is an import, but still a Hoover possibly. I've seen the same machine with the "Simpson" nameplate as well. -Tim |

My Aunt has that exact machine over here in Oz. I have seen many people with ones very similar or exact to this one. So yeah i think its definately Australian made and imported to Canada. Looks very well kept and clean, unlike my Aunts which is missing most of the writing on the console and has a cracked lid. When you pull the timer out to start the bit of brown plastic on the front comes off too. Catch it if you can :-) Matt |

....an Aussie made Hoover of either 4kg or 5kg capacity... Robust, reliable and most if not all parts should still be available. Tim, Hoover made full sized automatics in Oz until around 2005ish, when through a cruel twist of fate they actually became part of Electrolux.....and you have not seen the same machine with a 'Simpson' nameplate - when this machine was built, Hoover and Simpson were in direct competition with each other |

Dave, I'm not sure, I ran into a full size unit in the dump and it had the Hoover tag that read North Canton, OH, I assumed it was made there. However for something that was rebadged, it's very Hooverish, just with the style and layout. A Blackstone is rare enough here, but a re-badged Blackstone seems like an impossible to find machine. Didn't someone here have a full size set? -Tim |
