I wonder if someone could help me with this one: When I was a kid and teenager, I remember a dishwasher that was built into the kitchen counter, or could have been attached to a sink. It was a top opening machine, the lid being flush with the counter. The lid also had a round glass in it. Inside the machine, the tub was also round, and rather small and I think it was stainless steel or aluminum. I think it had something like a vertical spin tube in the middle. This is such a faint memory, that I hope I'm making sense. Could someone tell me the manufacturer of this dishwasher and maybe a little bit about how it worked? Thanks!

here's the spin-tube on things

yes, it was a Youngstown Kitchens. It had a small hot water tank under the tub to boost the water to 180 degrees F., had one wash, 2 rinses for a total 9.75 min. cycle, the lid popped open, dishes air-dried. The vertical tower had 58 spray jets, called HydroBrush wash action. This fun, novel machine, like most dishwashers then, was not a phenomenal performer.

also, the uncoated racks and spray tower were stainless steel, the tub was porcelain. With today's enzyme powders, they'd work far, far better.
