Hi folks. As most of you know, the very early Bendix front load units had a 2-speed transmission in them, wash and extract/spin. I have had/used/repaired the "Double Load" commercial big brothers to those little machines which had the 3-speed tranny, providing a higher final spin speed. My question: Did any of the domestic Bendix/Philco-Bendix/Philco-Ford machines for home use employ that tranny? I have a friend that owns a huge repair company and I might be able to get some of those before they are scrapped.

think i figured it out via jetcone's video on youtube

sounds the same. just dont know if the case is the same so that it will bolt up on any 3-speed machine. and wonder if they would work on my A47...because the pump seal failed and destroyed the motor shaft on it, which i found out when trying to service the centrifugal switch in the motor...dang it.

The 36" Duomatics used a three speed transmission.

I have a Philco/Bendix . . .

. . . Duomatic that has 3 speeds. I believe it to be a 1959 model.

I also have a diving bell Bendix and a tall, rectangular Bendix both with 2 speed transmissions. I'd like to combine the 2 and make one good one.

Yikes...sounds like I better make a call and secure those transmissions. I've never 'been under the hood' of a Duomatic or domestic Bendix other than the little one I have, only the coin-op versions. Man, this site is a blast...should have been in here a along time ago. Must take pictures soon...

Bendix Combos are the mothers of those Double Loader Dexters. They just removed the suspension and made it a bolt down. The tubs, bearings, seals, transmissions, pumps all fit.

Grab it all!! And email me whatcha got!

cheers
