No, it has nothing to do with the Big Brother *LOL*

In 1984 Zanussi merged into E'lux group, since then most of E'lux washers (and some dishwashers) were sourced from Zanussi plants (link to a related old thread).

Does anyone have infos / pics / links to share about euro E'lux made before 1984 ?

second question : was the small half size machine made in Sweden sold also as Eudora Babynova ?

Thanks in advance
Carlo

I believe - at least the ones in the UK. Also a BOL AEG as well, not to mention the odd Hotpoint

My Mum had an Electrolux 800rpm machine, she got it of an old lady that went into a nursing home....have no idea of the model number.....but chestermike posted a which review that it was featured in. Was super quiet, was certainly a Zanussi, same drum.

WH31

This model was sold in the UK from 1978. Sorry about the photocopied nature of the picture.

WH31

From the parts diagram, we can see that the WH31 uses a Zanussi tub.

WH34

Another model sold in the UK.

WH32/34

From the parts diagram, we can see that these machines were not of Zanussi build. Zanussi never used a backplate arrangement on its outer tubs.

I cannot find a picture of the WH32 at the moment.

WH1075

... but this time we have an answer. I found this in small print at the end of the instruction book. Anyone have an idea as to which French factory this would have been?

Tom

WH1100

Very similar to the WH1075 but this had an 1100rpm spin.
Both the WH1075 and WH1100 were introduced in 1981/1982 and were made in an Electrolux factory in France.

Tom.

Further research indicates that the WH32/WH34 were made by Creda in the UK!

So that solves the mystery,

WH30/31 - made by Zanussi in Italy
WH32/34 - made by Creda in UK
WH1075/WH1100 - made by Electrolux in France.

Hope that is of some help.

Tom.

thanks Lee !! - "which French factory ?"

I'd say Arthur Martin. Faure had already merged into A.M. in 1964; A.M. merged later into E'lux (in 1976). Maybe these washers were made in the Revin plants.

Arthur Martin

Hi Carlo,
Yes, I was thinking Arthur Martin myself. It was the only Electrolux related washing machine manufacturer in France I could think of.

Here is the WH32 - branded 'electronic' only, compared the the 'electronic 1000' of the WH34.
Would WH32 have been 800rpm Tom?

Hi Servisslimline,
No that is definitely the 70s/80s Creda drum in the WH34.

Hi Paul,
From the technical information I can see that the WH32 was 850rpm. Interestingly, the manual for the WH32 is missing from Serviceforce, the manual for the WH34 is there though. Thanks for the colour pictures, they are a vast improvement on mine. I'll do some research into the dryers for you if you like? Those coppertone models certainly look like rarities!

Tom.

I love this thread already! I LOVE electrolux through and through.

Interestingly, i remember a close family friend having a Electrolux branded model similar to the WH31 it had the same super high cooldown as a comparable zanussi i loved i'm sure it was before the elux group bought zanussi.

Hi Tom

thanks for the offer of research - would love to kindly take you up on your offer, as that 'Credalux' dryer certainly had us all shocked when it appeared on ebay about 6 months ago.

Myself and Rob fought for the washer (Husqvarna) but it went higher than we were willing to bid, so we let the dryer go too. Obviously someone was after the full set, as there was a coppertone fridge and cooker plus an entire kichen being sold too!

I never knew that Creda made those couple of models for electrolux. That info was a real eye opener. Is it just me or can you detect the Creda in them? Its the thickness of the door that does it for me.

Really interested to learn about all these machines.

Cheers of the offer
Paul

WT40

Hi Paul,
I've done my research on the Electrolux dryers and it turns out that there was only one model pre-1984. The coppertone model above is therefore the WT40 introduced in 1981. See the link below for the instruction manual.

If there were any others they are certainly well hidden. Nothing else is showing up on Serviceforce, the exploded diagrams or technical publications.

Just a small addition to my findings is that the WH1075/WH1100 washing machines and the WT40 tumble dryer were available in white, almond, copper and poppy!

Tom.

Bright Red poppy!

Electrolux certainly were brave! Wonder how many of those they sold!

Hi Tom

Many thanks for putting in the time to research these machines. Is great to know what that dryer finally is and I can moved it from the 'Electrolux/Unidentified' folder to simple 'Electrolux' one. always nice to know what things are.

Lovely drawing of the stacked pair on page 6 of the manual - looking nothing like one another. I really never knew that Creda provided a couple of their washers - a real eye opener.

Thanks again
Paul
