Went to the laundromat yesterday and used a SQ toploader from 1996. I think the bearings must have been going out on it because when it went into spin it started to roar like nobodys business. After the cycle was done and I went to get my stuff out, it has leaked water all over the floor and quite a bit of it. WOndered if any of you have any ideas about what could be wrong with this machine. Surely bearings wouldn't cause water to leak too would it?

tub seal and seal rings. When seal goes bad, bearing goes, loud washer during spin.

Bearings will for sure make the machine leak.

and the roar is a dead give away. will cost the owner over a 1000 to repair too. and once repaired they dont last as long as when new before it will have to be done again. Once bearing go it is better to replace the machine. Have never had one last for more than 2 or 3 years after a repair..
