just had a look at our local currys, and they are selling a matsui washer for 200 euro and it has a drum that is almost identical to the old hotpoint drum.
got these pics off the currys website.

WH 265

actually made in Porcia by Zanussi .

About Matsui ..... Beko (Arcelik) or Bosch/Siemens ?
Indeed BSH has some factories in Turkey, part suppliers maybe are the same for BSH, Arcelik and Vestel.

I saw this in currys. It looks very beko or bosch. The drum looks like a spanish fagor we had in our holiday home in spain. Its quite cheap in both price and build but what do you expect.

its been getting good reviews tho, and its not the worst lookin machine out there, it looks more like bosch than beko IMO.

Isn't it a Fagor?

I'm certain the earlier Matsui models were made by Fagor, and what you said Darren would certainly suggest that.

That Elux is beautiful, a washcraft with a twist!

Matsui it's a DSG own brand

and not a real manufacturer. That's why i can see them @ Unieuro and you can see them @ Currys... discovered on Pixmania.it .

All of these companies are in the same parish :

The new BekeBoch, made by neither but in another factory that make for them!!

Ahh the Matsui, at least they are a better product these days...when they first started the M brand it was a challenge to sleep at night if you hadnt worked the extra guarantee with it!!

get what you pay for althoug, all the people I know with Beko machines they are flogging them to death and are really pleased with them...I know of one out of 36 that a programme option button flew off and that was replaced asap!!!!

Now lets see how the Amica models fare...looking good so far!!!

always wonderd who made matsui, surprized to know it was DSG, sad the way ferguson was owned by DSG and is now Owned by comet only saying this cause they dont sell ferguson stuff over here any more any ferguson type stuff is branded LOGIK, over here now.

I also wondered who made Matsui. My Gran has a Matsui dishwasher that she bought about 6 months ago. I wasn't happy, but as her Bosch Classixx lasted just 2 years before the PCB failed i couldn't really lecture on buying a more expensive machine!

The Matsui diswasher (slimline) has a few similarities to the recent Hoover slimline i thought? Dunno if all Matsui products are made by the same people or whether they contract out to various manufacturers for different products? Maybe someone will know?

I wouldn't mind trying a Beko myself. I think i might suggest one to the parents when our Zanussi Essential packs up. Frustratingly this latest Zanussi doesn't seem to be built anywhere near as well as the older XC Range so i don't think its worth paying the slightly higher price for a Zanussi when Bekos seem just as well built for less ££. If we go down the spending more route, it might aswell be a Miele.

LOVE that Electrolux tho! :) The floor tiles its sat on hint at Spain/Italy/France to me, but the text on the program guide is English, so i wonder where it was? Lovely machine tho.

Liam.
