So, it looked fine, right? I figured now it would be a good chance to do an extended run to make sure the timer was operating correctly. About 10 minutes into the test, Hubby saw a spark from the back of the machine. No PHUT this time and he said it looked yellow, not blue. I shut the breaker off immediately and tried to figure WTF happened... Well, I was and still am stumped. I checked the wiring, connections and even managed to peek into the heater chamber and I could not see anything glaringly obvious. The only thing I came up with was that the 'static wire' between the cabinet and the trunnion bearing for the drum was missing. I must have snapped in an earlier attempt to remove the drum; the manual I have said that this was necessary to prevent static shocks. This and the fact that 'one extreme to the other' humidity levels in the house were at their winter low (22 percent), is the only explanation I have for the spark that was produced. Does this make sense?? If not, what else should I be looking for?? I am SOOO anxious to get this machine into use again.... |

Everything you've done there looks good, so I say throw some damp clothes in it, and let it run for 30min while you sit there and stare at it. |

Ah, Dryer Therapy! The only thing I would include is something soothing to sip. |
