Well, just put a second load on to wash ( min iron with water plus ) in my Miele W1613......when the drum turns clockwise the machine makes it's usual noise ie: you can hear a v faint motor noise and the clothes sloshing about. However on the anti-clockwise tumbles there is a very definate motor noise not unlike an older Hotpoint. Obviously I will get an engineer out but am feeling dissapointed as the machine is less than 18months old. Plus had a bitch of a day at work and missed the delivery of my ( new to me ) Kirby G3!!!!! What a flippin' day!!!!!

I suppose the noise is "brush" related......on the plus side I should get a free update!!!

Sorry you are having trouble. You will love your Kirby! I have been using a G4 for years and I will not have anything else.

Hey Dude

I'm sure you know your own machine, but in the attached vid this guys machine does it too.

I think there are better examples floating about on youtube... but you might wanna take a look.

Might put your mind at rest

Mums W1511 has been doing that since it was a few months old. Miele replaced the brushes at the 6month point and when it started 6 months after that, they came out and told us it was normal and I'm too sensitive having the machines that have the Brushless motors or brush motors with Noise insulation.

Hers is only on the clockwise tumbles on the anticlockwise ones it is very quiet.

i think noises from brush motors do change over time and you shouldn't get to concerned about them. its mostly due to natural wear of the brushes and one may be more uneven or maybe a small piece chips away so it makes a noise until it wears down past the chip. Its just a bit of carbon after all.
