im very sad as my hotpoint 9534 just finished a wash and it was on final spin and it sounded as if something was stuck in the pump, i heard it first on the 2nd rinse and it sorted itself, then after the wash had finished i unloaded the machine and put it on a spin and the pump came on and the noise was there, immediately i switched the machine off as i though it could damage the pump, i would look at the pump but im not sure how to as i don't think it has a filter behind the kickplate thing, so tomorrow the hotties coming out and the zanussi fla1002w is taking its place, absolutely gutted, these things happen though

you say your sorry about whats happened to the machine but in a way i am relieved because my hotpoint is so loud i can hear it from the top of the house and its a 3 storey, but then again it is an excellent washer and a much loved make and model by washer fans so i cant really complain, its just in bad condition

They feature self clearing pumps, you can tip the machine on its back and get to the pump underneath.

You will need some pliers and you can remove the sump hose and then see the impellar and remove any blockage.

Dont scrap the machine based on the pump. Its fixable if you have half an hour.

im not scrapping it, later on today the hotpoints coming out to be fixed while my zanussi is on untill that breaks down which will be a long time as the belt was replaced about a year ago.

Hi Phil sorry to hear about your hotpoint, nothing to major I hope. Looking forward to seeing the Zanussi, one of my favorite brands.

there was a change of plan

turns out the filter was blocked and there was £1.50 or something stuck in it plus a miele token thing, i will post a picture of that later, and a rather large chunk of plastic which seemed to be from the outer drum!, so me and my papa had a rummage around and couldn't find where it came from, so we thought it was all ok and we gave it a test with some washing and hey presto, one working hottie pump, we used programme 6 as i told my papa it was faulty and he wanted to see why, but it got through the wash, with a odd part of the wash froze because of the dodgy timer on that cycle and i must say i am surprised, the pump seems quieter. and while the machine was out i gave it a wipe down with a wet cloth and that was that, im a bit gutted the zanussi wasn't put on but in the next few years if the hottie develops another fault then we will swap machines, so overall it was going to be a good result.
