Can we see a picture or two of the washer? And are you meaning an inner tub(the washbasket) or the outer tub?

GE V-12 TUB

Any GE standard capacity tub through 1994 will fit but only the first years had all the holes on the sides. The newer tubs with less holes work better as they don't redeposit as much lint and scum on clothes when it spins out. But I can understand if you want to keep it original as its a beautiful washer.

That GE is a beautiful machine!

Very nice, especially in Turquoise. Would this be a 1963 model, as I see it has the clipped corner lid, and Mini-Wash? This is my second favorite style GE control panel. Think the washer or dryer on "Leave it to Beaver" was a close match to this.

wow so great to see I can use a newer tub. Are there any other parts to concider replacing when I replace the tub. I am going to attempt to do this myself. I truly love this washer I also have the matching dryer. Cant wait to get her working again. Yes it does have the mini basket

check the boot

since tub will be off, would be good to check the tranny boot
for evidence of any cracks developing-usually cracks in the
rubber are noticed from looking at the underside of the boot
from under the washer-if relacement is needed, get a gennie
years ago, replaced a bad boot on my'81FF and parts store only
had an aftermarket, probably asian import boot-lasted less
than 2yrs!-replaced that with gennie, still perfect 7yrs later
