Hello, I'm new to the forum and just got my first KDC-18!!!!! You can acutally see photos of the unit on thread #23616. She's a beaut and runs perfectly. I didn't care too much for the wood panel or chrome trim so I removed it to find beautiful factory white paint!! My problem is the lower panel was held on with duck tape!! The lower panel itself does have two tabs that bend down and screw into the legs of the machine but the top of the panel swings forward. It's obviously missing clips or something? Any help appreciated. I love this machine!!!

As a suggestion, if there is no place to reclip, or screw, you might want to find heavy duty velcro, as long as there is a flat spot to attach it. Just a thought!

You underestimated how dumb I am

Thanks lotsosudz, I figured out there's a small flange in the back of the panel on both sides that slides underneath the gold colored band and vola!!!! Thanks again.

Yep!

Glad you figured that out. Saves alot of writing for us here. So many people go crazy with those panels but it isnt all that hard to do once you find the secret.
Have fun with your machine, It will clean well but just make sure you can supply it with some decently hot water for best results. There is no heating element in the sump to help things along in that model.

The Larger Spray arm cetainly will fit that machine. I have both sizes. I have found almost no difference in either size Spray Arm.

My girl needs a bigger rack (.Y.) !!!!!!!!

I really just want the KDS style upper rack. The ability to manipulate the rack is awesome. I have two roomates and want this machine to be the workhorse it can be. Figured I'd just get the larger spray arm as well. KDS-19 to 20,21,....?
