Shomar.ie

Luke,
Shomar is a distibutor, not a producer : they also sell Servis. My guess : this PowerPoint is actually a rebadged Haier.
A couple of years ago in our stores there were some of them with that slanted fascia.

Where was the leak in the candy ?

the shomar brand owns powerpoint its one of their own brands... i know the distribute servis aswell but i havnt seen a servis washer in stores in a long time.... the leak was coming from the pump, saw no point in getting it fixed as it was old enough for a modern machine i was actually surprised it made it to 9 years.

Hi
Your machine is indeed a Haier.

Keep in mind your old Candy machine lasted 9 years. I would bet my mortgage that the Haier won't last that long.

Looks great though, enjoy it while it lasts!.

im pretty sure it will as my nana only does about 2 washes a week anyway and our haier is doing okay with about 3 washes a day.
i love the spin sequence on the powerpoint doesnt fuss about balancing at all just gets on with it... it drains the water then the drum cycles two times in each direction then the pump cuts out and it slowly turns up to distribute speed then the pump kicks in again and starts spining at about 400rpm then pump cuts out it reaches distribute speed again and then pump back on and up to 600rpm... then slowly it reduces spin speed until it gets to washing speed and then goes straight up to 1000...it very intresting to watch... done 4 washes and hasnt fussed about balancing once...i love it...also sounds similar to old brown fascia hotpoints ;)

Haier

Hate to be neagative about your Haier but they are not known for there quality.
I honestly hope you get many happy years of service out of the machine, but I would be very supprised if you do.
