The cats out of the bag, so to speak, so I will post a couple videos and a few photos of this machine.

I got this machine from Greg Nunn a few years ago, as an empty shell. I tried to make up a Multimatic transmition for it out of parts, but was not successful. Steve Riley sent me a Rollermatic transmition, so I used that type of transmition instead. It was not exactly a breeze to make this conversion... Thats for sure! But this Custom Imperial is so beautiful, that I had to save it.

So a BIG thank you to Steve and Greg for helping me get this one up and running!

the Frigidaire turnover sure puts that race to bed. Mahhdddone!

Splendiferous. The sheets just FLY. And your Multimatic is one of the prettiest birds on the sky.

I wish I had your talent. I am in awe.

Fingers crossed for successful Suds Water Saver recovery!

Wow Rick that is an amazing transformation! That shell originally came from me, it was my 2nd Frigidaire washer after a WDA-62 that I found about six or so months earlier. It was 1996!

Congrats on a wonderful restoration.

And you did a fantastic job getting it back in working condition!!!

Great job as always, Rick! I never cease to be amazed at how often Frigidaire did major style redesigns on their consoles. It's a gorgeous washer.

Rick (or anyone), what does the toggleswitch way over on the right side of the console control? I can't make out what it says in the photo.

As usual your restoration is beautiful. You really have an eye for detail, so I am not surprised you were able to convert that transmission. I KNOW it was a shlep to try switching out that tub hub!

Now we have to find you a pank "Lint Chaser" ring!

Thanks everyone! It was not an easy restoration... But worth it. I do need a detergent cap for this machine, as this one is off of my 57 Unimatic. Anyone have an extra for sale? Let me know.

The spin speed is about 700 rpm on this machine, as it is not a Rapid-Dry transmition. But thats ok, I still LOVE it.

Robert, if you can recall, where did you find this machine in 1996? Was it working? What happened that it was "gutted"? Can you share the story with us? The cabinet and console sure are beautiful! I am glad the "shell" was saved all these years. Not too many of these around!

Eugene, that switch returns the suds. Rick told us last week in his first thread about this beauty. But I don't know exactly what it says.

Rick:Wondering about the handle you press to select the cycle. Can you push either the top or the bottom--they both do the same thing, so you can use which ever button you're in the mood for?

Such Luxury!

Thanks for the "at a boyz" guys!

Jon, I am glad you have an extra Multimatic transmission around, because other people here will most likely need one at some point.

I really HATE the Multimatic, and am glad that I made the converted this to Rollermatic. I do appreciate your generous offer however. (and the nice comment) Thanks again!
