Hello Guys,
just a quick question; I am heading round to my partners house later on to look at his washing machine (and see him of course!). Befoore I go I wondered if any of you could maybe pre advise me on what this problem could be. It was going the other day with a full load of washing in, and it started to make a dreadful noise - emptied the machine and ran it empty; no nasty noise... Rob describes the drum as "off centre" and wobly. Its a few years old, intergrated, and I think its made by CDA or someone like that. Apprecicate thats not much to go on, but I am heading there shortly so may have some more info for you all! Cheers, Chris |

Hi Chris. Yep - agree with Gary - probably drum bearings on way out. Although, if its an extreme wobble, it could be a cracked drum spider. Paul |

It def was the bearings; before it spins it is quiet, and then as it begins to pick up speed it gets very noisy and the drum is clearly moving about a little more than it should be. Had a quote for £175 to repair it - I dont have the tools to do it for him to be honest.
Thanks for all your help Chris |

Hey Liam,
He has just sold the flat he is in and part of the deal was the intergrated appliances, so he doenst have much choice other that to repair it - £175 is still cheaper than purchasing a new intergrated washer - even the cheapest nasty one's appear to be double the £175 repair bill. I think the machine is Italian in origin - at least thats what Google told me when i was searching for spare parts for it!! |
