I had just missed out on one of these here in ATL a few weeks ago. Instead, some lady from AL came and got it. Now another pops up. Very pretty washer!

Wow - I didn't know they made the NX after 1966. Strange bird!

Geoffadelphia could answer for sure, but I think this was the one with the "sawed off center post". I have no idea when they stopped making this one. I know there was one on the floor in appox. 1982 @ a Maytag home appliance center in the New Orleans area. Of course i inquired re: does anybody buy these. The lady told me "you would be surprised, tugboat owners buy them for their crews, all the time". alr2903

This model is nicknamed "Blue Bell" for obvious reasons. They are a pretty rare find. I wouldn't mind owning one someday.

Hey guy's i had a chance to get this machine around the corner where i leave, it was on a pick up truck and the guy was tired an not to pleasant i ask him where can i get the machine the next day, he gave me an address so i went to to that street an there was no appliance place so i lost it very, very upset about it.
And it is the one with the center post gone air2903, a flat Gyrator with a little hump in the middle that's what attracted me to the machine in the first place.
Lee maxwell has that Gyrator in his collection in aluminum, in agitator ally which is the first time i saw it ooh well.

Darren, I once saw an automatic Maytag with the sawed off gyrator in it. Back in the 70's. I didn't know what to make of it, but was very intrigued. Be nice to see how it works.

Hi all,

That's a cool lookin' washer. More agitator mysteries. So much fun! Some day we'll have video records of every agitator ever made showing its stuff.

Still, that NX is a truly wonderful machine with great looks. Just not for that price... What I'd love to get is one of the clear tub 'demonstrators' like our Robert has. I wish he'd do video of that one..or better yet, loan it to me so I can pla... err STUDY it and shoot video! Hee hee hee!
