Bendix/Teka

Teka owns quite a few companies and was founded in Germany.

Nice looking washer & dryers. Wonder how well they're made. Overseass, they offer 220v. condenser washer/dryers.

Have a look at this website, under dryers and washer-dryers, you'll see who makes them. The Italian company BOMPANI.
They also make or made machines for Equator and Splendide before the new models made by Indesit company.

The ones on the Bompani website are Antonio Merloni machines.

Ick, 1 year warranty and a message to the effect that we are "striving" to be the Bendix your grandparents knew. Sorry, not for me. But was excited for a minute or two.

I think Jon has got it

these are rebadged Haier units, but this machine takes a step up from the 1.7 to the 2.5 cu ft drum so it must be a bigger machine.

The lower end version

looks like a mid-90s Indesit to me. I know Haier sell these machines rebadged in some countries, so that would make sense.

If they're the same internally as the older Indesit variants, they shouldn't be half bad machines.

OMG!

The 'Softline' range looks like UK Indesit Omegas!

Not surprised

The Indesit Omega are round 20 years old models

Manufacturers at a point replace production lines with newer ones to save on labour cost and to have faster throughput.

They often sell old lines in some Far Eeastern countries, so ...

Holy Cow!!!!!!!!

servisslimline's profile picture
the softline washer does look like an indesit but the dryer looks like some sort of servis maybe? but they do not look like a matching set at all and as for the pro series theyre just haier/teka made machines rebadged, and i was really exited when i saw the name of the thread but now im gutted, 1 because theyre haier made and apparently theyre not so good i hear and they dont look reliable at all to be honest and im not happy about it, bendix are probably going to have a bad reputation now, anyone agree? phil

About Haier....

aaronfitzy's profile picture
Haier disappointed me last summer. In 2008 I bought a Haier window air conditioner. It was used maybe 6 hrs. during the day and then shut off at night or on just "vent". It was put away for winter and then in the summer of 2009 I got it out and installed it. It worked for about a week and then died for no apparent reason! Warranty was up by then. I have a GoldStar window air conditioner that will be starting its 9th summer this year.

Haier

Hi Guys.

On the subject of Haier. My Cousin bought a Haier washer last year, the washing performance was good, well it would be as the 60c cotton cycle took near 3 hours to do one load.

After 5 months of use it broke down as it was showing a Err7 code. The Haier engineer came out to repair it. He said it needed a new motor, so replaced the motor. He then tested the machine, and it was still showing a err7 code. He then replaced the PCB board, and guess what, yeah, still showing the err7 code.

He then said its not worth fixing cause the parts he has replaced came to £154. He then sent a report to Comet, and my cousin got a refund and bought a Bosch instead.

Think Haier are an awfull machine.

Regards

Paul

my thinking is electrolux may have licenced the name to haier/teka, they still sell them as tricity bendix over here.

Tricity Bendix

Phil,
these are just badges, not actual firms

Some examples:

- MAYTAG is owned by Whirlpool. But in UK they don't want to be perceived as Whirlpool [wonder why ;) ], so they outsorce DW, FL and dryers from antoniomerloni.it .
Notice these aren't the usual Servis-like AR.DO appliances but true scandinavian ASKO machines

- HOOVER in the USA has nothing to do with european Hoover owned by Candy Group

- WHITE-WESTINGHOUSE in Europe is used by SMEG, while elsewhere is owned by Electrolux

- PHILCO, SERVIS are badges owned by antoniomerloni.it , who also works as contractor for countless trade companies (Supra, Equator ...) but also for Whirlpool

- Tricity Bendix is also an Electrolux badge used on Zanussi made appliances (check link)

It's unbelievable what's behind branding ....

They play all these brands like a worldwide orchestra. Those machines we know as AEG appliances are marketed in Scandinavia also as Husqvarna. This brand here is used on E'lux chain saws and lawn mowers, so a Husqvarna washer sounds like Jack Nicholson's one in "Shining" :-)

Now chez WP check this shot : unusual KA dishwasher ... it's just a plain rebadged "Bauknechtpool". They are introducing KA as a premium brand also in Europe [check whirlpoolcorp.com]

As for BSH orchestra check the link
