Hello to everyone in applianceville! Its been a while since I have last posted so a big hello to new members on the board.

I was recently surfing and found this new model from Ariston called the extendia. Its a 8.5kg front loader and is 100cm high and 70cm wide, so looks like its made to take on the Duet style machines.

Any of our Eurofriends have any information on this new model.

It certainly is interesting in its style.

Yup!! That's also being sold in the UK under the hotpoint Extendia. Interestingly it has a detergent dispenser in the bottom of the door opening rather than a drawer! Very very interesting machines - Hotpoint/Ariston seemed to have brought it out to compete with the larger FLs (Neptunes, Bosch Nexxt, LG Tromms, Dreampsaces) which are making a stronger appearance at least here in the UK.

Does anybody else think it looks like a cross between a Bosch Nexxt and a Neptune?

Take care all,

Jon :-)

It sure does.

I wonder if the cylinder is tilted/angled?

This one is sold in the UK as the Hotpoint Extendia BS1400, and looks identical apart from the name badge. Google the model number and you'll find a few Brit websites selling this machine already - yet the manufacturer's own website hasn't been updated to include it yet!

Interestingly, the Hotpoint version at least comes with a 1 year warranty for commercial use. Obviously it's being targeted towards small businesses that require onsite laundry facilities, such as hairdressing salons and the like, as well as home users.

People might think I'm crazy for saying this, because it's made by Merloni and not some premium German manufacturer, but I rather like it nonetheless. Big, yet neither boxy nor styled like some silly great orb. And with that wrap-over door and large window, possibly similar to what many people were hoping the original Neptunes would evolve into.

Cheers,

Kirk

Toggle,

From the pics I've seen it appears the tub is angled on this new Hotpoint/Ariston. Don't know why, but it has a certain Asian look about it to me, like some LG or Samsung machines... just makes me wonder if the design is 100% Merloni, or if they have worked alongside another company to develop it?

Cheers,

Kirk

OMG does the control panel open with the door?

Toggle,

Yep, just like the Neptune door, except the control panel is integrated into the curved top section that "wraps" over the top edge of the cabinet front.

I also see some similarities with the control panel of the AEG Lavalogic. I sincerely hope that the qualitiy of this machine is better than other Ariston washers.

Is there going to be a matching dryer? I noticed that in Holland there are several big washers available but not one matching (or non-matching) dryers available. How stupid is that?

This machine definitely has a style of its own! However, I was drawn to this thread by its title: Ariston Extendia. It reads just like one of the subject lines on the junk e-mails I get for Viagra-type products.

I would love to see it come to Australia.

Ariston is quite popular in our market.

The Bosch Nexxt is going to be releases here apparently. It has been given an energy rating so must be on the market soon.

Bosch Nexxt

So Bosch Nexxt to be released here in Oz soon huh? well quite frankly I think they should be ''Nexxt" in line to go into Villawood detention centre until they learn about customer service in that joint.
Boycott Bosch!!!!!! Boycott Bosch!!!!!!! Boycott Bosch!!!!!
L.O.L.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers
