Wow, a very late 606 Halo. They sure seem to be popping up lately. Probably warming up for May, the Maytag month.

Hell Dan, I was thinking about May Maytag earlier this evening! Let's cross our fingers for a sunny yellow 906 set to pop up!

My favorite dryer control of all time. Give the knob a push and walk away, and come back to perfectly dried clothes every time, and a job completed with quiet efficiency.

The machine to the right is a Penncrest

does the HALO overdry clothes? how do these machines work as far as performance? I am seriously considering buying it, and re-painting it white to match my washer

Experts correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the top surface porcelain enameled? I would think it would be difficult to paint and wouldn't be nearly as durable.

I have a HOH DE606, and I must say that I don't find my clothes to be overdried at all. Everything comes out so nice and soft. My dryer has a bell that dings when the contents are dry, and then will tumble for 5 more minutes before shutting off completely. Just be careful not to overload them, remember they have a smaller interior compared to today's large capacity machines.

I never had over-dry clothes come out of any of the 7 electronic controlled halos I have the pleasure of using while drying on the "Regular" cycle. Clothes will come out a little over-dry if you use the "Permanent Press" cycle.

It may be tough to paint the porcelain top. I have a matching HG washer if you're interested.

RickR should be able to provide you with info about refinishing porcelain tops. The machines he had painted turned out stunning.

haha

my friends back home have this dryer and they always had to run it twice to dry anything until I removed the lint filter. Which had not been cleaned in two years. its was cool like little layers or rings on a tree.
