Hi Mark Beens ages since I've seen you on here - hope all is well! The Philips looks good - my aunt had the gold version of that one! Does it still run? Any sign of any Galas or GE Filter Flos over there? David |

anyway i' m shocked too by all those Zanussi and Bosch. Maybe some people dump washers just because of a minor fault ? It sounds a bit odd in these hard times ... |

My friend recently bought a Bosch washer thinking it was made in Germany. When I lokked at the quality of the machine I said no way. He emailed Bosch and they said it either made in Poland, or Turkey. Paul |

Hi Mark, great selection of machines you have there, love the old silver blue Phillips, and those quiet induction bendix, usually kept running for years..
Pity about the modern stuff, pretty shocking, I wonder if a lot was just out of guarantee and cheaper to get one on the store card than pay cash repair & have to wait for parts etc.. |

If you want to be shocked come to the re-cycling centre i work at............
by far and away the most modern type of machines i see are, Hotpoint Indesit washers and dryers........then Modern Zanussi, Bendix, Candy, Beko, Servis, LG, Candy, Hoover, seen about 4 dysons over the years then old machines from Hoover (logics, new wave), Zanussi (split cabinets) Hotpoint (UK ones) Bosch (german ones), Servis (UK ones) Ignoring the other cheap brands then its the very odd Miele (very old ones) I am dismayed by the amount of "modern" machines that turn up, LG make me chuckle, always bearings gone nout special inside either...........too much emphasis on "technology" and gimmicky programmes and not enough put into good solid engineering (Miele,Asko etc excluded) It is a shit old business now me thinks anyway thats my view point from where i stand |

Chris
I too have a Revolution 5000 which lasted about 18 months before a board inside went "Snap, Crackle, Pop" and has not worked since. I will get around to getting it fixed some of these days but an 80's Tristar has filled in extremly well since. I have quite a lot of Miele equipment and for many years it has been my "brand of choice" but that cleaner was a BIG disappointment particularly since its predecessor 247i (18 years old) is still going strong. And in some ways is more convenient to use too Al |
