That's gotta be a demo machine. One can sometimes get these on eBay, once the dealer gets rid of them. I've seen a similar Siemens at an appliance store nearby.

Zanussi Techna Visi

Darren,

Zanussi-Electrolux produces a regular 24" windowed freestanding dishwasher (obviously here in Italy it's badged as REX)

www.appliancist.com/dishwashers/e...

you'll find more infos and pics in the linked E'lux UK .pdf catalogue

also try the Searchalatore, guess there are some old threads about it

I have seen that Siemens demonstration machine in a store here. It's neat to see the spray action in it.

Our local appliance dealer has a Bosch D/W with a see-through door.

I always wondered why mfgs never put windows in dishwashers. I remember the see through Maytag machine at different places. Even Monkey Wards had one in their appliance section.

Rex-Electrolux Techna Real Life (also as AEG Favorit ProClean)

If they still have it, sure I can.
I last bought a D/W from them in late 2001, when I purchased my current Bosch D/W (nine years old, going strong, no repairs at all). I have since been in the store, but never bothered looking around the D/W displays since I wasn't in the market for one. I later bought a fridge, then a washer and dryer, and most recently an over-the-range microwave from them, but skipped the dishwasher displays.

yeah why is that? why dont they put windows in dishwashers as a regular practice. Well at least it seems to have caught on in the washer world. I cant believe how many people I know are getting front loaders for this reason alone. I wonder why it has taken so long to catch on. Seems like people geneally like to see machines doing thier thing.

Maybe because people don't find it appetizing to see bits of food flying about?

Exactly why I don't own a bagless vacuum cleaner. Some things are best left out of sight. But the dishwasher idea has some merit to it.

I couldn't disagree more

I'd buy a new dishwasher like that solely on the basis of having a glass window into the works. So cool. I remember our downstairs neighbor in the Sixties talking about fashioning a window in the door of his FL Hotpoint so his boys could watch the works while eating dinner. He never did it because he realized how difficult it would be to bypass all the electricals.

He was no Robert Seger.

Constructa

foraloysius's profile picture
IIRC an aunt of my had a dishwasher with a small window in the door. I think it was a Constructa, but I'm not 100% sure about that. I saw this dishwasher only once when I was still very young, it must have been in the mid sixties or there about. It would be cool if such a dishwasher would show up somewhere.

Constructa maybe was also badged as VIVA ?

courtesy of Bert - http://www.lamachinealaver.com

I actually "played" with a discarded Constructa in the last millenium ;) It was like a twin of this Viva
Constructa and Viva today are both in the BSH parish ... maybe they had some joint venture far before the BSH thing, as Zanussi and AEG did since long time before Electrolux "married" them ....
but also as Brandt and AEG have often had

The form of the window is the same I think so it's possible. You wouldn't have by chance any pictures of your machine?
