I've been asked from time to time on the site and in email to post pictures of 'The Pile' behind our shop to see what's going thru the haulaways... Well... Here's some pictures of behind the shop. Some may be saved. Some may be donors and live on in other machines... I'm most likely NOT going to be keeping alot of these, ssoooo...

Here we go...

This is a G.E. set that we used to rent long ago. They were sold in our used fleet way back when and recently returned as haulaways. A single speed washer with basic dryer.

A nice, older Frigidaire D/W. Not sure of the age. Missing the access panels. This has a timer you push in to start and it pops out when done. Extremely clean underneath...

Coppertone, anyone? This one has a thermostatic temp control. It's been a while since I saw one with a cap tube to sense the temps... Other than that, it's a basic model.

A Maytag DE-91. A uncommonly seen big load dryer with time dry and a single temp. We used to rent these, too. I seem to remember this being Maytag's entry level, 'uni-sex' dryer with no matching washer. Made to go with wringers?

Andy, if you decide to throw away that Frigidaire dishwasher, Nate or someone else might want the racks and maybe some other parts first. Theree are a ocuple of people who have gotten those SuperSurge dishwsahers in the last year or so.

Thanks for sharing the pictures

You should open the door of the Highlander electronic control dryer to show the club how cheap Maytag was with the inner door on its low end dryers.

That Frigidaire dishwasher must have been in some kind of seasonal-use place. Its condition is remarkable. BTW, the little front collar around the chrome knob snaps off to allow you to manually advance the timer knob.

I hope someone is able to use that TOL GE dryer.

The Frigidaire d/w is not going to be kept. I can hook it up if so desired to see what works/doesn't work but there is no signs of leakage underneath. If interested, contact me in email.

You do have a fun pile!

That Frigidaire dishwasher is the same as one of our apartment complexes here used. Nearly 200 of them in one complex, all gone now of course. Most of them weren't used much (we called the complex Widow Heights - mostly older, retired women) and rusted away to be replaced by BOL GE's. They were fun to play with but extremely loud and poor performing.

I lived through owning a very similar GE. Gak :-)

In fact, the machine that replaced it was very similar to the one on the left. I wonder if that Tappan has the top-mounted full size wash arm and no spray tower the way my Magic Chef did?

Pete, can you e-mail me a list of what you need? I'm not sure about the bottom rack but I have the top rack, as well as motor, dispenser, pump housing, etc.

It COULD with the style of the control panel, but I seem to be seeing a slight glimpse of the top rack through the slight exposure with the door open, and if that's the case, the top rack is mounted too high for that particular design/style and is more likely the more conventional arrangement.

rp2813's profile picture
Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for Nate?) the Allroad only has room for one machine at a time. That KDI-20 is lovely and Bob you are so right about ease of use, but it's just not an option for this trip. Why couldn't it be a KDS-22 instead? I'd be more inclined to figure out a way to grab it and have it waiting in the wings in the event of a Thermador meltdown.

the g.e. dishwasher. that is the exact style of tub, pump and motor as the g.e. i bought my aunt and uncle in 1971 or 72. with the horizontal pump and that power shower tube! i can still remember the smell of the new rubber when we first got it! amazing almost 40 years later!

i would love to have it for memory sake whether it's beat up or not but i don't think it's feasable to try to get it shipped from nevada. too expensive right now i feel. perhaps if you still have it later this year. or is it going to the crusher?
