I'm going to be getting a GE Filter-Flow Washer on this coming Tuesday, from some good Friends 2nd Hand Shop. It has the newer Black Control Panel, with Red Lettering. I put a deposit of $20.00 on it last Month and I've got the other 1/2 owed on Tuesday of $20.00 when I pick it up. It had the Lint Filter, but it didn't have the Mini-Basket, so one of the Guys there helped me to see if we could locate a Mini-Basket for the Washer. We found a perfect matching one, because the Washer is a Standard Capacity and it has the Curved-Ramp Activator.

Now the only thing that I need is a Fabric Softener Dispenser, that fits on top of the Lint Filter. The Activator, Lint Filter, Mini-Backet and Fabric Softener are all White, so if anyone has a Fabric Softener Dispenser For Sale, I would be very appreciative "if the price is right" for you and me. I checked for curiosity on Repair-Clinic for a new Dispenser and they wanted $45.00 plus Tax and Shipping, forget that...

Thank you in advance to anyone that has a Dispenser available.

Please E-Mail me and/or Post here on my Thread and let me know who might have what I'm looking for and how much you want for the Dispenser.

I will have the Model and Serial Numbers on Tuesday, when I pick up the Washer.

Peace and Kind Regards, Steve

Black panel Filter-Flo

We had a set of these in our last house - pretty BOL though with no mini-basket. They were real workhorses. That ramp agitator was awesome.

It's always exciting to get a new classic washer. Hope you're able to find the softener dispenser, and may you enjoy many trouble-free wash loads, Steve!

Steve,

I do have a white fabric softener dispenser that's white, open at the top, and fits over the small white filter pan. It's yours for shipping cost. Let me know.

John

Hey! John:

I just wrote you an E-Mail about the Fabric Softener Dispenser. Thank you for your help with my search.

Thank you also to Andrew "dnastrau" and Eugene "Frigilux" comments, this is actually from a real long time ago, that I've owned and checked out a GE Filter-Flow Washer. I've never really liked or maybe didn't understand the Wiring Connection Bracket on the older GE Dryers that sat on the Right-Rear Top inside of the Cabinet, where all the Wires were connected. I've also never liked the small Holes surrounding the rear part of the Drum. To me they were just a place to invite Lint to get into the lower area of the Cabinet and into the Motor, causing Overheating eventually. This is just my opinion and preference of Brands.

Peace and Kind Regards, Steve

I've been wondering if anyone could please let me know how old the Washer is? I've got the Model and Serial Numbers available here and I would gratefully appreciate anyones help.

Sorry, but I still don't have any access for including any Pix's.

AF = January 1991...

...based on this link and the fact that the console is red on black.

I know, I was wondering the same thing

I still need to make some calls about a spotscrubber basket. Ya know, there is something I really like about the red on black newer GE's that's really slick looking. I wish they would have kept that design, maybe refined it a bit. I understand the higher production costs of making a machine THAT heavily built, but really, a plastic outer tub and some suspension refinements and it would still be more reliable than anything on the market today. The direction GE went with their washers post '94 really disappointed me. I can't say much, they SEEM to do OK, but nothing special like what they replaced. I can't believe they ditched the filter system totally either, which was sort of their trademark.

Also did anyone else notice that some of the newer GE's had the Rim-Flo system like the Hotpoints did towards the end. We have a 93 model at the local shelter and it has no filter-flo hat, just the collar.

Still I like the shape of the console on the later GE FF's with the black console. I didn't care much for the white and beige consoles though. I like me some black and chrome :)

Thank You Andrew "dnastrau"

For the info about how to enter the Model and Serial Number on the Site, that can give you at least an approx Date of Manufacture of Appliances.

In my other Post Thread about my Speed Queen Washer, I've also accessed that Machines Model and Serial Number and found out that it was Manufactured around February 1994, so both my GE Filter-Flow and my Speed Queen Washers are fairly new Models.

"BTW" as soon as I'm able to locate a fairly new Gas Dryer, preferably either a Maytag, Kenmore or Whirlpool, I'm going to be making a Trade with my Friend who gave me the Speed Queen Washer, for the Electric Dryer, that matched my Washer. It is still operating all right and mostly will only need some "Preventive Mantainence" and to Lube the Drum Rollers and Belt Tension Pulley.

I've got both products of Zoom-Spout and Turbine Oil. I've used both of these products on many Dryer Drum Rollers and Belt Tension Pulleys.

Thank you everyone who has given me the info that I've requested for both of my latest additions to my Collection of Washers and Dryers.

Peace and Kind Regards, Steve

Mini-basket

I do have a white ramp activator mini-basket. I bought it for a few dollars at an estate sale thinking it would fit on my V-14 ramp activator. It does not because it is made for the taller extra-large capacity machine. I would need a measurement of the agitator height to know if it would work on your machine. If it does it is yours for the cost of shipping.

I have a mini-basket, filter pan, and softener dispenser set for the Extra Large capacity Filter Flos. Mine takes the standard, smaller ones, so it is totally unusable for me.
