Getting a second one, of course!! Theoretically, this KitchenAid Electra top-load portable is my first KA... Eddie in Cape Cod bought this off of craigslist for me and has very patiently been keeping it in 'foster care' for me since last fall. Well, I finally got my butt down to Cape Cod to get it on May 1st. Meeting Eddie and getting to see his collection was great, but I was itching to get this baby home... Here's the 'other' KA in my dishwasher collection, a KDC5.

It's in very good shape - the turquoise racks are near-mint; the tub is solid and undamaged! It has the 4-arm HydroSweep wash arm (Can't wait to test THAT out). Oh, and the cabinet is perfect - not a scratch or blemish anywhere.
Unfortunately, the weather in Ogden was well, cruddy, this past weekend, so I was not really able to get out to the garage to play with it... This coming weekend, I hope.

Oh, and Hubby didn't realize I even got this... I started lining up dishwashers out in the garage (I was getting ready for a Wash-In that never happened), so I just slipped the Electra into the line-up. He walked by it at least 20 times over the past two weekends and he didn't even notice it. HEEHEEHEEE!

And another appeal for help...

with the serial number and date or year of manufacture, please.
This KDC5's serial number is 401375. Eddie figures this is a mid-60's model; that would make sense to me.

Paul,

The KDC5 is Wow! You are so lucky to find a machine in such pristine condition.

I love your portable dishwasher lineup. Beautiful.

you will love that kd-5! i have the same one in coppertone and i use it as a daily machine! out of all my toploaders it is the one with the power!

you can still get parts readily available, although the only thing you may want to grab is an extra pump seal which hobart still sells.

it is a great machine! have fun and you will love it's cleaning power!
