Is it something like this? This is a 1981 Kenmore 200 series, the most BOL of the belt-drives that year. There was an even more BOL 100 series the next year, which lacked the black panel insert on the left, the water level switch, and the lower Perm Press cycle. The control knob on it was white instead of chrome. This machine is actually pretty nice looking for a BOL, at least IMO. Gordon |

No. The panel was darker than that. It only had one knob and the water steeing were within the cyle chosen. |

The boy's profile says he was born in 1994, so I would assume it was in the late 90's or early 2000's when he was in the Ward's store. Since it was Ward's, that certainly rules out any kind of Kenmore. Perhaps it was a Signature by Norge, or a BOL Maytag. |

didn't montgomery wards go out of buisiness around 1986? In my 1982 MW catalog, the most plain-jane BOL washer was a westinghouse based machine. |

Wards went out of business 2001. Although the name is apparently back as a mail order. Coming full circle, since that was how the company started!
I remember visiting one in the late 90s. I wish I could remember what brands they had, but I do seem to recall seeing a Maytag. I'm kind of wondering if The Mystery Machine might not be made by a Maytag-owned company. Link to Wikipedia article on Wards CLICK HERE TO GO TO LordKenmore's LINK |
