Very Cool.

A lot of people talk/rave about the washers, but you don't hear a lot about the dryers. Unless someone is complaining about them over on GW. Seems they are not really a strong suit for Miele. I would love to see them release this pair with the control set on the Little Giants. I'd have to buy a set, then!

Miele's marketing people are contradicting themseleves when they say "other brands use platic, reducing the life of the machine(page 7)".

This Miele has a platic outer drum!.

Miele have let themselves down in my opinion in this department in what is otherwise a great build quality.

Thanks for posting this. I found it very interesting. At the prices they charge they sure are proud of their products!

Miele USA Charges Outrageous Prices

Because they can and also because the stuff must be imported to these shores. While Miele appliances are expensive in Europe, nothing like it is on this side of the pond.

Miele Dryers:

Methinks Miele falls short in this area because of their refusal to build products just for the American market, and or lack of experience with uber-sized gas or electric dryers for that matter, the kind used by Amercians for generations.

Miele Plastic Outer Tubs:

Miele claims the stuff is not "plastic" but the same material that top end boats have their hulls made of, and is much better that the average plastic found on many other front loaders these days.

Use of this "plastic" allowed MieleUSA to cede defeat and give in to American's love affair with LCB.

Miele and plastic

Maybe some people need to study the text and photos more carefully. Miele tub is indeed made of plastic but it's composed with glassfibers. But the biggest difference is not the tub nor tub material, it's all about the bearrings! If you look carefully the bearrings on the 'kenmore/whirlpool' tub are supported by the tub itself. In the Miele the bearrings are at first mucht heavier and second they are supported by a pully type disc in steel/iron. The quality of frontloaders comes down on the quality of the bearrings!

"Methinks Miele falls short in this area because of their refusal to build products just for the American market"

so you guess this is available also in Europe ... come here and look for it ;-)

"...and or lack of experience with uber-sized gas or electric dryers for that matter, the kind used by Amercians for generations"
