Is this another "missing" model? I dont remember of John D has one of these or not. At this rate the whole of the Keymatic series will soon have been rescued, I think we only have the second series wide body (with powder drawer) to go :)
Congratulations to you Seamus on snapping up this rarity, I hope that it proves to be a runner for you. Looks like we will be needing a truck for the next run to Chester LOLOLOLOL Al |

Congratulations Seamus, looks as good as you say and after hearing it spin I`ve heard worse bearings...LOl, shouldnt be a problem to find a set & pop them in!!! And its the one with the elusive BLACK keyplate, does look very classy!!!
Yes we do now have nearup the full line-up of keymatics between collectors both here and worldwide!!! Al, the one you are thinking of was Mathews Selecamatic A3114, which he brought up to John D`s house while we where there!!! it does match the A3110, 3112,3114 range being the bronzy black bezels etc... It is one of the "missing" models, theres one in a house 2 miles from me, I saw it when I went to pick up a junior,it was a second washer as the main one was a Hoover Quatrro!! |

Seamus, yes its the one I`ve mentioned many times, I did leave details, but I couldnt remember where it was as I lost her details, it was 2 sisters who had come to live together after their hubby died and where selling duplicates, EXCEPT the washers, the A3112 was in a scullery nr the back door and her sister (who`s house it was) had kept the newer machine as well!!!
I`ve racked my brains thinking was it the A3112 or the 3062 and as soon as I saw yours I remebered because they had flotex carpet like whats in the hallway pic,and as soon as I remembered that I realised also where it was so, just goes to show, there is stuff still around!!! Enjoy, Mike ps, another OOvah Holy Grail turned up at the weekend in Brum, will reveal all later!!! |

Seamus I am staggered and pleased as punch that you have such a rare and excellent example of this beautiful machine.
It does indeed add to the keymatic collection, the styling simularities with selectamatic make it so special. Brilliant news and thanks for sharing it Gary The bearings maybe the crush washer has crushed right down? the 3060 i got had a sloppy drum, i replaced the crush washer with a new one and that was it sorted |

Amen to that........
It very nearly did- what I didnt mention is it wasnt actually a new washer the woman had delivered it was a fridge!!- its only because she mentioned to the delivery guy she was going to phone the council to dispose of it as it hadnt been used for ages that he said he would take it free and save her the £20 odd. Really dosent bear thinking about........ Seamus |

Morning Seamus, did you get much sleep last night!!???, you can see now how the timer & indicator timeline arm is the same as the "Selectomatic" that Mathew resurrected..
Its interesting seeing the timer so far back from the card / keyplate reader!! and to see the storage slot on top instead of below. Enjoy, Mike |

The old one was starting to craze/perish and had a slight dribble on the door glass seal. Hoover no longer make the original design for this machine so I fitted the post 1985 version. The main difference is its ribbed on the inside and the folds are smaller so you dont get as large a "trough" of water to mop out after use.

Hey Gary
Once its bearing/slight rust issues are sorted then it will indeed be sharing duties with the Insight :). The A3308 will rotate position with it once the suspension is attended to as well ;). Fortunatly because of shared pipes im unable to be metered :D Paul..... Once its installed in position videos will be attended to :). Seamus |

Hey Mike
Id have to agree it is rather smart- and goes with the Orange one nicely :). When Kelly (Matts idea !!) is next plumbed in im gonna have to try the Man Made Fibre Blankets programme- im guessing is high level wash poss with prewash..... I phoned Mathew earlier and he was able to answer a query I had on her operation lol. Seamus |

Hi Rolls
The blanket programme is indeed the same as the delicates, but has a prewash added...... The thing to ponder is why Hoover went back to the Timeline indicator for both this and the A3114 considering all other Keymatics/Selectamatics from the 1st Matchbox onwards have seperate coloured lights for the different stages?? Seamus |

I wonder how plausible it would be for them to be using up old stock of the timeline setups for these. After seeing the pics of the inside of the machine, the timeline is a strange setup indeed. I really wish Hoover would have at least sold one series of FL autos here in the states. I amazed that they didn't even try to. Just the twinnie are the only shared models and they became very different in 1970 than the rest of the world.
