If the plugs are for European outlets, would that mean that the machines are designed for European current? Would a power converter be necessary to run them in the US?

These are US models the voltages are 208-240 and 60 cycles the plugs can be converted easily or you can install European style outlets.

Gosh, in the photo the washing machine has an American plug, how can they mistake it for a "European" one?!

Power Configuration

On the Asko set that I had for a short period of time, the dryer plugged into the wall using a three or four prong 240v outlet. The washer had a european plug on it, but it plugged directly into the back of the dryer.

Oddly, these seem to be somewhat reversed.

that's exactly how mine was.

I loved it 'cause you only needed one standard 220 V (US) dryer outlet.

I have had two askos. The first was bought in 1995. I replaced in in 2005 after my circuit board got fried. (Asko had discontinued it). I didn't think the second one worked nearly as good.

Too bad.

Sold the second set and bought a Whirlpool front loader. I still miss being able to do whites at 95C, but oh well!
