loose belt?

if motor is running, but no agitation, possibly has a loose,
glazed belt(does it spin ok?)though i've never seen it before,
possible there is a transmission problem-very easy to replace
in a filter-flo GE or hotpoint.

Make sure the agitator is still attached to the agitator shaft, you should not be able to turn it buy hand with out the basket turning.

I had a Hotpoint that had the "handwash activator" agitator and it wasn't working without my hand forcing it. The problem was the plastic "teeth' that engaged into the center post had worn from friction and got stripped. i had to replace the old activator with a new one I had found on another Hotpoint at the dump.
