Likely needs a basket-drive. I forgot how pretty that one is!

This is one of my favorite Kenmore styles. When I was a wee tot, my babysitter had this set. I remember being enthralled with the lights and buttons.

I have one now too, thanks to Don S. - but only the control panels and washer lid.

Friends of mine in a Dallas suburb had these up until about 1993, original owners. The timer died on the washer. She thought I was looney tunes because I was so captivated by her washer & dryer. The matching dryer was timed only Soft Heat dryer.

It does look good. Hopefully the issue preventing it from spinning can be quickly resolved. This model was probably on the showroom floor the longest of any one model during that time period. It debuted in 1965, and was still being sold in 1968.

Have a good one,
James

I found it stange that it has "issues" considering when you look up under it or inside of it , it appears that it has hardly been used! The tub and Roto-Swirl are like new!
I did not realize this model was continued for so many years.

There are so many reasons why it isn't spinning. You'll have to check for each one before you go replacing anything. Loose/worn belt, broken wig wag wire, lid switch broken, timer, bad wig wag, broken or stuck wig wag plunger, stuck, bent, binding cam bar. It really shouldn't be that difficult to figure out.

Well, as I recall, it tries to get going when empty but if there is the weight of wet clothing in the basket, it doesn't have the strength.
