Cleaning out a garage of a friend who died, in the corner is a Sears Kenmore 800 washer, different than the one in a thread, center cycle dial, round dial on left for load size, right round dial for water temp. Has switch for extra rinse & soak only or soak to wash, detergent dispenser on top right front, two dispensers inside, gold color swirl agitator, washer is white, some very small chips on top, has florescent light on top, pluged it in, fill valves work, won't spin, makes a hum & started to smell. It now belongs to my friend's brother, you can have it for what the junkyard will pay, will post photos asap, probably next week.

It sounds like you may be describing a 1969 or 1971 Kenmore 800. The only difference between the two was that the 1969 model had the hidden mercury lid switch, and the 1971 had the visible switch that all Kenmores since have had. The cycle dial on those models was not quite centered. It was about as far to the right as the 65 800 in the other thread, which is less to the right than most models during that period.

I and several others would love to see pictures of it. Those 800s combine some of my favorite Kenmore design elements. I look forward to them. Hopefully the repairs to be made are simple.

Good luck,
James

I forgot you were trying to sell it. Hopefully someone in the club will give it a good home and the repairs it needs.
