Hi all, my washing machine starts ok: door locks, lights up and makes the right noises when you push the start button.............then around 7-10 seconds later it stops and goes into pause mode from which it will not budge. It started doing this a few weeks ago but if switched off and left for an hour or so would then run ok. Now it won't even do that. Has anyone any ideas please?

No not necessarily, earth leakages on these range of machines often cause the machine to pause. Not a job for a DIYer in my opinion, as I said call your local friendly engineer.

Hoover/Hotpoint?!

Im hoping the suggestion of a Hoover or Hotpoint was a joke?! Sadly neither of these makes of machine are worthy purchases these days as both are now made by different companies and are of poor quality, with generally very short life spans.

Repairing the AEG or buying a more dependable make of machine than Hotpoint or Hoover would definately be a more recommended route to go down.

Liam.

I did!

I totally missed it! Cheers for spotting it.

An old Hotpoint or Hoover is not such a bad idea!
