After finishing up a transmission rebuild for the restoration of my '69 A806 (as well as the up and coming transmission rebuild thread), I decided to essentially "bench test" the unit before carrying on with the resto. Hooked up the motor, bypassed the pressure switch, and this was the result.

It sounds smooth and quiet. Good job!

Pretty Cool!

Hey Dan, that is pretty KEWL!

Now I think what you should have done for a more "dramatic effect", was to set the spin for the last minute or so and let the timer run out so the console light would shut off as it stops spinning by itself!

But it's still pretty KEWL! Thanks for posting it!

Kevin

Thanks! It's the first time it has ran since I tore it apart nearly 3 years ago.

Wow, great idea! I'm pretty uncreative, so it appears that I need to consult you before posting vids, lol ;)

Good Fan

Looks like it makes a pretty good fan by the way the sofa cover was fluttering in the breeze!

That is freaky, man. You should sell it as performance art. I think the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis would pay a pretty penny for it!

BTW, I'm always amazed that the entire transmission spins and it doesn't leak oil or fly apart. I think my '06 Frigidaire top-loader does the same.

Seriously

Just hang it from the ceiling and leave it on the spin cycle. Your electric bills should drop :-)

"Sounds good, like a Maytag should." Sorry, I couldn't help but plagiarize the old Winston cigarette slogan.

NICE!!!

Thanks Dan for making this video, it's very cool...you can hardly hear the trans when it spins...the agitator is centered, not moving back and forward as it agitates like my 712...too bad the brake assembly cannot stop the tubs in 1 second flat...BTW, what size motor are you using with the restore 806, 1/3 or 1/2 hp?

I really looks different with tubs removed, so bare. But it is sure quiet. One day (hopefully soon), I will get my Maytag off the screened in porch and down in the basement.

I thought I saw something like this in a Las Vegas hotel room with a coin slide that takes quarters... (Ducks and runs!)

Actually, that's pretty cool looking. You should have had that when you filmed the tv spot...
