Now THAT MADE MY DAY! These are so cool. It's so rare to find literature on these. I have the 0519 in Avocado and Harvest Gold, and even the rare and elusive 0910 dryer. the 0910 is a horrible dryer by the way :)

I have a you tube vid up of the Gold 0519 and the 0519 Deluxe in Avocado is processing...

Thanks so much, I love these little things!

Here is my 1974 Avocado 0519 Deluxe getting ready for washday

Parts Are Hard To Find...

launderess's profile picture
Oh Idon't know about that.

Yes, while it is true parts can be difficult to find for Hoover twin tubs, they often can be had. Mind you it can mean dealing with persons in the UK/Europe or in the "land down under", but there you are.

There is also many persons do have a decent stash of parts, but given how hard such things are to come by, often they aren't on offer.

I felt the same way about the Danby, I bought one when I got my 1st apartment by myself because my old Hoover's pump had given up the ghost. I didn't think I'd ever be able to find another Hoover (boy was I wrong!) as this was before my discovery of Craigslist and this forum. It worked, but I was very disappointed at the wash mechanism being direct reversing motor driven like it was. It was quiet enough and held quite a bit, but I didn't like it. You also could not spin-rinse in mine as the little electric pump couldn't keep up with the spinner and it would throw water out of the lid. I think they could have made it better with things like places to hang the hoses and a flat top. Things that I took for granted with the Hoover. I gave it to my mother for a Christmas present because I knew she had no preference. She still uses it today some 3 years later and it's been a decent machine. No soul however. I fixed the Hoover and was once again happy with my laundry day.
