this is the bendix i got from melvin (supremewhirlpool) a few weeks ago. it runs fine, no pump leaks, goes into it's whopping 330 rpm spin just as it should. does have a leak around the door gasket that i am going to address eventually here.

my question is this

rollermatic's profile picture
what type of transmission fluid does it use? i want to check the level of fluid before using it anymore. i may have to top it off or possibly fill it up.

larry in parma suggested either motor oil or type f transmission fluid. these two are very different. plus if it's oil in there now i want to use oil etc.

the manual i downloaded from this site says to use bendix transmission fluid but that doesn't really help all these years later.

any answers would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!!!

There is a do it yourself series of books, maybe 12 in all, & the first was about repairing appliances & had an extensive section on Bendix washers. I remember these from the libraby from about the mid 60's. Of course, these have been long discarded, have no idea the publisher.

Greg Nunn has one I think. These things are awesome! Wish I had something like it!

He could help you maybe.
