Hey guys, was wondering if anyone on here would know where I could get harvest gold and avacodo green paint. i have a vintage kenmore BD washer and dryer and a vintage maytag washer and dryer that i would like to paint. they are both white but i like the colors of the 70's so much better. what i am realy concerned about is what i can paint on the dryer that will be safe. i have picked out colors at Lowes and home depot that are close enough but scared to paint either one of the dryer. I would appreciate any advice that anyone could give me.

Thanks
Chris

Still had some last time one looked for my HG Whrilpool portable.

If you need part numbers (Whirlpool)let me know, can check the printout for my machine.

yes please give me a part number for the harvest gold paint but if it's spray paint i don't want it. i've done that before and didn't get good coverage. i would prefer it in a quart so i can role it on. my email is cphifer5115@eplus.net

IIRC, only the spray paint was listed, and even then there wasn't that much.

Spray Bomb Touch Up Paint - Harvest Gold Whirlpool #350937
Golden Harvest - 261890
Leveler-Thiner - 350941
Primer - Grey 350938

Paint Touch Up - Quart - Harvest Gold Whirlpool #350880 (uncut)
Golden Harvest - 261891 (Uncut)
Thinner 799351

You're going to have to search around for someone that has NOS of these items, but maybe one of the vintage part stores listed here or Sears Direct still has a can or two lying about.

If dealing with Sears, just don't go by what their parts Internet site says; often if you contact them via telephone (and get a good rep), they can find stock not listed on the website. If there isn't allot of something methinks they take it off the web, but just as with a real brick and mortar store, as one said there might be a few pieces on a shelf somewhere.

Of course this begs the question how good these cans of paint are having sat sitting for >10 or >20 years.

"New Old Stock"

Items never used, opened and or still in original package. Shelf candy!

PS

The unspray paint listed above comes as quarts, you are going to have mix with proper thinner/leveler as listed above.

The problem with "NOS" paint is that it might be 10-15 years old, or more. Not what I'd want to use.
Find the colors that you want, and have a paint store mix up what you need.

Paint normally stays relatively ok over the years.

Excessive cold will kill it before excessive heat....says my painter buddy!

Any automotive type enamel will do. Lots of members here have painted washers and dryers that way. I've used RustOLeum before on a dryer, no problems.

well i have already painted both washer and dryer with the rustoleum appliance epoxy in white last weekend. so would then just painting a semi gloss enamel on top of that be ok?
