Looks like WP did quietly release their new laundry line of machines.

I knew a couple of people here had prototype/trainer models to evaluate before the release.

Does anyone here have one? Are they worth a damn? Any pics or videos?

Thanks.

Is the new Whirlpool Duet a direct drive machine? Here are some pics of the Maytag version and that motor looks suspiciously like a direct drive motor! It has the same model number as the FL washer pics surrounding it!

They have a distinctively LG look to them, don't they?

Jamie---Where did you find the photos of the Maytag? I went to both the Whirlpool and Maytag websites and this line is not shown at either site.

Similar Styling

They kind of remind me of the Kitchenaid SS machines that were out a few years back. I like the chrome frame around that door. Wish we could lose the tinted glass, though.

Thanks for the link, Jamie!

Malcolm---I was not overjoyed to find a smoked lens in the door of my new washer. Fortunately, the tub light is very strong and seeing in is not hampered in the least. You have to turn the light back on every three minutes, but that's not terribly inconvenient, especially now that I know how the machine operates and am not watching entire cycles.
