My sister in Jackson, Mississippi has a Maytag A-608
owned since new and in excellent cosmetic condition.
She is fastidious about her appliances.
It has a very slow leak (center seal?) and she says it is noisy
Otherwise works fine
One service call in 30+ years for water valve. Sadly she is getting
a new Kenmore. Sears will be picking it up Tuesday I guess
to throw away. I am trying to talk her into selling it
for a small amount rather than throwing it away. Probably
hopeless.

A608's

I recently saw a very nice A608 in the back of Lowe's. It was filled with trash in the tub, according to Cory. No room for it, so it will end up at the crusher. Funny thing is, to repair the leak w/ new belts and hoses, will cost much less than buying a new unit that may last 5 years. Too sad.

Sears has no business getting their hands on that machine! Dare I ask what color the machine is?
