Everybody knows I HATE Whirlpool because of what it did to Brastemp. The years PRE-WP were amazing and now that WP owns 98% of Brastemp, I don't consider Brastemp as a Brazilian company anymore. Worst of all, if you Americans think WP is reducing their quality, you should see what they are doing with the brazilian products and the after sales service. Some chinese crap are much better than Brastemp now.
Anyway, Brastemp did a marketing campaign probably never seen before.
They got the 11 biggest radio stations from Sao Paulo (one of the largest cities in the world) and at the same time, at 9 AM they transmitted the following message:
"Hey you, driver. serious in your car, probably going to work. This is an invitation, an invitation to make you day better, an invitation to get some inspiration and do something very simple: - Smile!
Smile to the car next to you. For no reason, just smile... If they're listening to this, they will understand and smile too. Make your day better... A SMILE CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING blah, blah, blah"
Only after the whole message the brand Brastemp was mentioned, after millions of drivers joined this flashmob.
Of course when they created this campaign, they expected something really big. What nobody would think is that 100% of the drivers joined this hiper flashmob. Probably the biggest flashmob ever seen in the world.
Here goes the video, unfortunately without subtitles (but the message is almost exactly like above).
Even hating Brastemp and Whirlpool, I have to say they did a wonderful job and millions of people started the day in a different way.... SMILING!
YES, A SIMPLE SMILE CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING!
2 CENTS...
Thank God the message didn't say "remember the brand new washer you bought that jumps like a frog" or "remember the new Brastemp fridge you bought and after 2 months the compressor died and all the food went to the trash" São Paulo would be flooded with tears LOL.
And you? What have you done today to make your day better? Smile to a stranger!
