Can you say "optimistic"?

My word!

Whatever prescription psych meds that seller is taking, I gotta get me some.

That pair is overpriced by about 825.

How inviting, can you say "Closet Collector" Ambivalent Latency??

Closet collector...

Never thought of that!

I did think of that being a standing pilot gas dryer though, they should have listed that in the auction - "more rust than you ever dreamed!"

You all have it wrong!

Lawrence, though, is close...but it's not prescription drugs!

The Governor of Illinois recently kicked off a crackdown on meth labs -- note the location.

That, and a hit costs $25 on the street, I'm told. Note also that the price is evenly divisible by that amount. Looks like he's shooting for a couple of grams...

You know it's bad when the War On Drugs reaches even into Applianceville!

Ha!

This is the first W & D my parents had.

IIRC something like <$400 new in 1965/1966.

and the standing pilot IS fabulous for introducing humidity and white powdery dust into the machine and air! (I think it is the chemical used to give natural gas a scent, but I forget what it is called.)

good luck to them, they're not even mint condition judging from that quick pic posted. It's not like we are looking at that mint out-of-the-box set that a member bought a few months back. The green avocado (Norge?) set from Grants??? I think he paid only $475, again that was mint...

Northbrook, IL

Probably being removed from a house that is being torn down so a mini mansion can be built. Northbrook is famous for that. I wonder if the guy that bid on them will get them for the starting bid? Or will he have to meet the reserve if he really wants them?

Post# 80971 , Reply# 13   8/30/2005 at 18:42 (6,812 days old) by jdinstl ()
Give it up now, Robert...

...your snipe will crumble into dust before my Max Autobid. You'll have to sell everything you own to beat it (Dibs on the Glasbake), and hock your house right down to those uhmmm "festive" awnings...yessirreee boy, this is going to be an action packed auction for sure...right down to the last second. All eyes will be upon it -- and I will have achieved diety status! By damn, when this story is told at Applianceville conventions, strong men will weep, maidens will swoon, old women will cross themselves!

Or wet themselves laughing.

Actually, this guy is a bit closer to reality than one vac seller on eBay who's BuyItNow on some old Kirby's I've seen at $2,5000! And he gets the price, too! If I ever figure out his secret, my humble collection will be outta here so fast the bags will be scorched.

Cheers!

John

Well, it seems you might be right, John. There's a bid on them already! Reserve not met though...

How much you want to bet

that the existing bid is a shill?

Phoney baloney.

Maybe the poster upgraded the price because of all the time and labor spent putting the lid balls back in.

I've turned down better looking sets than that for $10.00 Maybe I better reexamine my practices!

Shill Bid

You can expect that it is indeed a shill bid:

If you look at the feedback for the buyer, he was a pretty steady Ebay customer until July 13, 2004. Compare that to the feedback from the seller, who has been a pretty steady ebay buyer since, guess---July 14, 2004!

So, last year, the guy got a new email address, and set up a new Ebay account with a new name, one that would be more conducive to selling items (firstclassvending) as well as buying (yesireallyneedthis)....

I too thought that an A512 was an 80's model with brown control panel with ivory trim and the timer on the right. Something is amiss here.

Post# 81113 , Reply# 21   8/31/2005 at 22:30 (6,811 days old) by fixerman ()

The A512 is an actual machine though. I either had or have one in my warehouse. I will have to look to see if I have it still have it and see what it looks like if I do.

Lots up here

We have a second hand store up here I keep an eye on for Kenmore roto rack dishwashers. This guy must have 7 or 8 sets for sale. Some with the lighted controle panel. I do not have room for a washer / dryer collection or I would purchase a set for myself. These machines are like brand new. He must be a Maytag guy, almost all of his used appliances are Maytag, Michael
