A friend sent me a pic of this washer in his basement. He can't identify the brand and neither can I. Could it be a Speed Queen? Dexter? I sure would appreciate any help you could give. Thanks!

GE?

It looks sort of like a GE? I dunno, and agitator shot would tell more.

Definately a GE

Yuppers... I think we have a winner here... I had a chance to nab one of these a while ago. The one I looked at had a skirted cabinet but this one is similar. Same agitator as mine, and I think the early BOL automatics had this agitator as well?

Identity of wringer washer

The various GE experts can give you lots of proof that it is likely a GE, good for them. As a Speed Queen expert, I can state it is ABSOLUTELY NOT from Speed Queen.
I have 3 SQ from various eras, lots of literature and pictures. Your machine is NOT SPEED QUEEN.
But it looks like a fun project!

I have a Speed Queen wringer from the late 80's, but don't know much about older model SQ's. I didn't think it was a SQ, but wasn't exactly sure. Akronman, I may ask your help with some SQ wringer questions in the future, if that's ok with you.

GE

HI Steve, I have one that has the skirt that goes all the way to the floor. Yours is a GE. Have fun with this and let us all know how it washes etc. Gary
