My Whirlpool Quiet Partner 980 was running when all of a sudden a puff of black smoke came out of the top right side of the door. I'm assuming an electronic control burned out. I'd like to drain the water out of the machine, but the controls are dead. Can this be done manually?
Thanks!

i think thats its your washer motor that burn out i remeber because it happens to me with my 1993 inglis whirlpool superb2 washer and yes its possible to darin manualy but you need a water hose to put the draining water int he bathtub or use a bucket and empty it by hand

Thank you Pierreandreply4. I was hoping you would not say that. Time to start bailing.
