Well I have a lead on on this model (here in Canada) and am wondering if anyone can give me insight to this model? How old is it, was it a durable model and such.

Guy

My guess....

....and it is only a guess, is that it would have been made between 1990-1995 (ish).

My experience with Blomberg was with a later model - I loved it and wished I had brought it back to Oz with me.

From a quality point of view, I would suggest that these particular machines are very close to Miele in their quality/construction and reliability. By that I mean better than both Bosch and AEG machines of the same age.

If the price is right, don't let it slip away....they are rare at the best of times - even in Europe....

...at a guess, I would think that machine would be:

- 4.5 to 5kg
- have a 900rpm spin - which should mean long bearing life....

...and I bet it weighs about 100kg

I'd estimate more 1980-1985ish, going by the styling. It's certainly older than me, the models I remember in the early-mid 90s were quite different to this. (Infact, the first machine I ever saw with a 1600rpm spin was a Blomberg, it was switched on on display in Comet, circa 1994. A washer that span twice as fast as the ones I was used to!? I couldn't get over it!)

Have never head a bad thing about Blomberg machines, and I don't believe they sold in great numbers. If you can get this, I'd say definately go for it!

Matt
