looking over a '60s home repair book,in the washer repair
section, was a 1955ish hotpoint washer and underneath it was
all fluid drive speed queen-did speed queen make these for
hotpoint back then or did hotpoint make that design under
license?
Mechanism was slightly different from a mid-'60s SQ;instead
of a yoke under the fluid drive to pull down into spin,it
looked like there was a lever over the top of the fluid drive
to push it down to spin.

I think your answer can be found by searching the word "Beam" in the Search feature on this site. The company now makes vacuums, but made that style of washing machines.

beam

searched "beam"-that told a lot, looks like the washer in the
book is a '56 or '57,hotpoint design starting in '58...
