This is the 1st model with the plastic tub. Very rare machine, as it's a square Hoover with all of the parts from the older stainless steel models. I have one of these in the closet downstairs, I drove to Minnesota pretty much to get it (see location above, Peter thinks he has issues...ha). The plastic tub molding on this machine is one of the unique points to it, it's thicker and a slightly different shape than the 71+ models. It's also a different plastic than the polypropylene that Hoover ended up using on these for 1971+. If exposed to UV it will crumble away like an older car's plastic bits (think 70's GM). There weren't many of these made from what I can gather, they came in 2 color combinations both with the turquoise plastic. This machine could be had with a teal/turquoise cabinet as well and turquoise bordered work top. Price is steep, it's a 1969-1970 only and the turquoise plastic disappeared forever on the US machines after that. It's actually a good combination of new and old, better pump design of the old machines and the styling of the new. Better tub and impeller design that isn't so splashy and a nicer spin can that's smoother and has an electric tub brake. A great little machine for someone, I'd bargain with them a bit though.
