Hi everybody,
I know you love this machine and you can see a French one on my site (go to "LES MACHINES EN PHOTOS" then "THOR").
Does she works???

YES, as a washing machine AND as a dishwasher....

Videos will be on line probably next week end.

See you.
Bert

What a wonderful website for French Laundry Equipment. And, Wow, I love your photo galleries! They are spectacular.

And the Thor - very nice. I hope to have my 1946 Thor operational one of these days, both the Washing Machine, and the Dishwasher.

Thanks for sharing.

Mike

Bert,

I have been reluctant to post any pictures of my Thor until I have had more time to work on it. However, I will put these additional photos up. I brought the machine home in early July 2010. At my July Wash Party, we started her up, and discovered that the hose coming from the drain to the pump was bad, so I have replaced it with a formed automobile radiator hose purchased from a neighborhood Auto Parts store. But in the process of replacing the hose, we loosened the elbow underneath the tank - the rubber seal crumbled. Separating the exterior elbow from the flange inside the tank is what is keeping me from proceeding. It was rusted together, and that is where I stopped my work. It will be at least a two-person project, and I have not had the time to bother my brother or someone else to help me with this project. A nice Christmas break project perhaps?

Mike

Closer look at the rusted drain flange inside the tank. If I can not separate these parts, then a thick layer of silicon sealer will probably work.

Slightly different angle of the dishwasher rack.

These are the only photos that I currently have. Thanks for asking.

Bert,

Thanks so much for that great Video. I especially enjoyed seeing the Dishwasher in action. It is really neat that you have a lid with a window that you can see the Dishwasher wash action. My older Thor has a black plastic windowless lid that fits on top of the dishwasher tank when it is in operation.

Hi!
Mine also has a black lid (see the link) but I obviously preferred to use the lid with a window to see the process.
