Model GLTF1240AS0 It won't drain. I have checked the hoses and there are no plugs. Replaced the pump. No change. Any ideas? |

Can you hear the drain pump come on? It sounds similar to a pump on a dishwasher. If no sound even after replacing I would suspect a loose or broken wire or possibly a bad timer. Are your service documents inside an envelope taped to the side of the inside of the cabinet? There are some tests you can run by following those documents that may help you isolate the problem. Good Luck, Patrick |

I have a Kenmore 44092. This is the 3.5cft Frigmore. When tumbling all you can hear is the sloshing noise from the contents of the drum. Once in a while there was a clanking sort of noise that mystified me for a time as to its source. What it was turned out to be the nested stainless steel measuring cups in the pedestal drawer. Probably the loudest single event is the drain pump in operation. Even the high speed spin is not very loud.

There is a cycle called "Soak" that fills up, including detergent if you've provided it, and then for about a half hour tumbles a few turns, sits, then tumbles again. Finally drains and IIRC spins a little, and stops. However, that's all it does. You need to then select a wash cycle. The big difference between these with their computer control and the older ones with a timer dial is you can't skip ahead to the next action. (e.g. stop washing before the time has elapsed and skip into the following rinse) All you can do is to pause, and once paused all you can do is resume or cancel. I don't know what happens if you cancel, does it drain/spin/???. I've never done this. |
