What is amazing...

stoves of this age range can often be so cheap. $25. $50. A Flair maybe a bit more.

Makes sense to get them now while available. Sooner or later they will be like O and Ms. and be very expensive to get a good one!

Re: Possible

I rented a Duplex here in Sacto, in the early 70s, with a "GM" Frigidaire Stove, just like this one and I'm quite sure that the Oven was a "Pull-N-Klean" Oven. It looks like the latch is on the upper part of the Oven Interior, where the Latch would be located shown in this Pix. The Stove I used also had the 2-Ovens and the Left one had a Swing-Open Door, instead of a pull-down normal opening Oven Door. I think that it also had the removable Liners to take out for easy cleaning at the Sink. I believe that the Stove that I used also had the "Deep-Well" Back Left Burner, that lowered to allow placing the Soup Pot on that Burner, but lowered into the Cabinet of the Stove-Top, to prevent having a "Kid" pull the Soup Pot off on the Floor and getting Burned and loosing that nights Dinner.

Peace and Happy Cooking/Baking on a "GM" Frigidaire 40-inch Stove, Steve "SactoTeddyBear"

Ah, another Frigidaire range......

There was one of these in town that the owners wanted to give me. I turned it down because it wasn't in the best of shape, and the parts were not interchangeable with the RCI-59.

This model did not have the deepwell, and I am at a loss as to why the left *oven* was not an oven, but a storage drawer. It seems so impractical. Still, if it is in good shape, it's definitely worth $50.00

I didn't understand the 40" range with one skinny oven, but I guess if you were replacing one the same size and on a budget, this would be a good option.

How is your range coming along, Venus? Time is so hard to come by and ranges are quite a commitment, I'm working on one too. Did you get some oven cleaner from me in June? I had it here but don't remember if I gave it to you. Let me know as I still have your Tiki Sounds CD here too and I'll pop them both in the box. I was using some of that oven cleaner the other day and it's always amazing how well it works - no effort at all.

Oy, the range!

Well Greg, the range is fine. I'm the one that's the wreck! LOL I have been busier than a one-armed paper hanger lately, so working on the kitchen has been "put on the back burner", so to speak. Now that the kiddos are in school, I will start getting some household repairs/renovations done.

I have some vintage EZ-Off pads that I bought at an estate sale. I haven't tried it yet because the ovens were so darned clean. They are cleaner than the pos Whirlpool (with the skinny second oven that's too narrow for a cookie sheet). However, all gifts; especially vintage ones, are appreciated! LOL

Hope you've been groovin' on the Tiki music! I could use a Mai Tai myself about now!
